James Deister graduated summa cum laude from Rockhurst University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where he served on the board of the Asian and Pacific Islander Law Students Association.

James Deister graduated summa cum laude from Rockhurst University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where he served on the board of the Asian and Pacific Islander Law Students Association.
During law school, James gained valuable experience through internships with the 7th Judicial Circuit in Clay County, the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Honorable Anthony Rex Gabbert, and an appellate law firm in Kansas City. These experiences gave him a strong foundation in both trial and appellate practice.
Outside of the office, James enjoys playing basketball, working out, and spending time at the lake with family and friends.
