The Missouri Trucking Association and the American Trucking Association held their annual Call on Washington November 28 – 30th. Ted Perryman, Chairman of Roberts Perryman, and Jennifer Mason, Director of Client Relations attended. Also in attendance were representatives from WalMart Transportation, Prime Inc., Clarke Power Services, Inc., Gencom Inc., Steelman Transportation Inc., Springfield Freightliner, TCSI/Transland Inc.
Meetings were held with Senators McCaskill and Blunt. Meetings were also set with Congressmen. Included were Ann Wagner, Blaine Luetkemeyer, Jo Ann Emerson, Sam Graves, Billy Long, Emanuel Cleaver, Russ Carnahan and Vicky Hartzel.
The meetings gave leaders within the trucking industry an opportunity to discuss the looming fiscal cliff and the Affordabel Healthcare Act. Other top legislative issues included CSA oversight and the highway trust fund.
