Ted Perryman has been asked to serve on the ATA’s Insurance Task Force. Current ATA Chairman Mike Card, of Combined Transport, made the following comment as it relates to appointment to this committee, “We must stand united in fighting for the best interests of the trucking industry. Most of the threats affect carriers of all sizes. ATA is fortunate to have a first rate team of industry experts, who advocate on behalf of our industry. Whether filing lawsuits against state initiated efforts to promote organized labor at the expense of independent contractors, working with government agencies to be reasonable in the number and impact of regulations, or advocating in Congress for legislation favorable to our industry, ATA has the vital resources to represent us in a professional and responsible way. However, staff alone cannot carry the day. As carriers, we must be proactive in advising staff of our needs and in participating in advocacy efforts by communicating with legislators and other public officials”
