5/11/23 The Southern Council of Illinois Trucking Association held its quarterly meeting at Bella Milano in O’Fallon, IL this week. Ted Perryman discussed “The Pitfalls of Transportation Contracts for Motor Carriers” outlining areas of concern for trucking companies in negotiating Shipper-Carrier and Broker-Carrier Agreements. Concerns such as indemnity provisions, Carmack waiver, set-offs and payment terms were analyzed as traps for the unwary in contracts presented by customers.
Ted remarked: “It was great to speak to a packed house of Southern Illinois truckers. The Southern Illinois Council has grown dramatically the last few years due to the efforts of Matt Hart and Brian Schumacher of the ITA.”
